Google Analytics with anonymisation functionality

On our website, we use functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics from Google LLC with headquarters at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). We use this tool to analyse the usage of your website. Specifically, this is done in turn using cookies, which generate information that is transmitted to Google in the USA and stored there. The data stored includes, for example, the time, place and frequency of your website visit, including your IP address. As already described previously, you can prevent the installation of cookies at any time by amending your browser settings accordingly. In this way, you can ensure that no information is passed on to Google. However, out once again we would like to point at this point that you will not be able to use all the functions of our website to the full extent if you decide to disable cookies.

We use Google Analytics with an IP anonymisation functionality. This means that your IP address is shortened and anonymised by Google itself within the Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. This means that only a rough localisation is possible.

Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators, and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may pass this data on to third parties required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. According to its own information, Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

Google itself offers a cookie deactivation option for the most common browsers. This gives you more control over what data Google can collect and process. If you activate this option, no information about your visit to our website will be passed on to Google Analytics. However, enabling it does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services we may use. For more information on the deactivation option provided by Google and how to activate this option, please click on the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

We have concluded a corresponding contract with Google LLC for commissioned data processing. The data processing is carried out on the basis of the legal provisions of Article 96 paragraph 3 of the Telecommunications Act as well as Article 6 paragraph 1, item a (consent) and/or item f (legitimate interest) of the GDPR.

The improvement of our offer and our website are our concerns in terms of the GDPR (= legitimate interest). Protecting the privacy of our users is immensely important to us. Therefore, all user data is pseudonymised and stored for a period of 24 months.

Google Ads

We advertise our website with the Google advertising tool “Google Ads”. At the same time, we use the “Conversion Tracking” analysis service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). If you have come to our homepage via a Google ad, a cookie will be set on your computer. Cookies are small text files that your internet browser sets and stores on your computer. These so-called “conversion cookies” are only valid for 30 days and do not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your personal identity. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognise that you, as a user, have clicked on one of our ads placed with Google and have been redirected to our page.

The data that Google collects with the help of the “conversion cookies” is used to create visit statistics for our website. This is of interest to us because it tells us how many users clicked on our ad in total and which pages of our website were subsequently visited by the respective user. Neither we nor other advertisers via “Google Ads” receive information to be able to identify users personally

Installation of the “conversion cookies” can be prevented by adjusting the browser settings accordingly. It is possible to generally deactivate the automatic setting of cookies or to specifically block only the cookies from the domain “googleadservices.com”. You can find Google’s privacy policy in this regard under the following link: https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html

Google Fonts

We use Google Fonts from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”) on our website. Their use takes place without authentication. Furthermore, no cookies are sent. Even if you have an account with Google, none of your account data is transmitted to Google during the use of Google Fonts. Only the use of CSS and the fonts used are recorded and securely stored by Google. You can find out more about this at: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq. You can find out what data Google collects and what it is used for here:  https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy.

YouTube with enhanced privacy mode

On our website we use parts of videos of the company YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, a Google LLS company, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. We use the “enhanced data protection mode” option provided by YouTube. When you call up a page on which a video has been embedded, a connection is established to the YouTube servers. In doing so, the content is displayed on the website providing this information to your browser.

In “enhanced data protection mode”, according to YouTube, the YouTube server only receives data, in particular which of our Internet pages you were visiting when you watched the video. If you are logged into YouTube at the same time, this information is assigned to your member account. You can easily prevent this by logging out of your YouTube member account before visiting our website.

Google provides further information on YouTube’s data protection at the following link: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

Instagram

We also use Instagram on our website. It is a service of Instagram Inc. When you call up the corresponding page of our website using the embedded button on our website, Instagram receives the information about it. If you are logged in to Instagram, the service can assign your visit to our site to your Instagram account and link the data. The data transmitted by clicking the “Insta” button will be stored by Instagram. To prevent this, log out of your Instagram account before visiting our site.

The Instagram privacy policy provides you with further information on the purpose and scope of data collection, its processing and use, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy. These are available under the following link:  https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388.

Facebook Pixel

We work on our website with the Facebook Pixel from Facebook, a social media network of the company Facebook Ireland Ltd, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland. The built-in code evaluates the behaviour of visitors who have come to this page from a Facebook advertisement. With this knowledge, Facebook ads can be continually improved. However, this data is collected and stored by Facebook. The collected data is not visible to us, but can only be used in the context of ad placements.

The Facebook pixel code also sets cookies. Facebook Pixel tells Facebook when you visit the website so that visitors can see matching ads on Facebook. If you are logged into Facebook and visit our site at the same time, your visit will be assigned to your Facebook user account.

Detailed information on how Facebook Pixel is used for advertising campaigns can be found at https://www.facebook.com/business/learn/facebook-ads-pixel.

If you are logged in on Facebook, you can change the settings for Facebook ads at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen.

You can manage your preferences regarding usage-based online advertising at https://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/. There you have the possibility to deactivate or activate several providers at once or to change the settings for individual providers. More information on Facebook’s data policy can be found at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.

Newsletter

With our newsletter we inform you at regular intervals about our work, our offers and everything else that seems relevant and interesting to us. On our website you have the possibility to subscribe to our newsletter. All you need is a valid e-mail address. We check the address you have entered to make sure that you are indeed the owner of the e-mail address you have provided or that the owner is authorised to receive the newsletter.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we save your IP address and the date and time of your subscription. This is purely a protective measure in case a third party misuses your e-mail address and subscribes to our newsletter without your knowledge. We use the data collected in this way exclusively for the purpose of receiving our newsletter and do not pass it on to third parties under any circumstances. Nor will we match it with other data that may be collected through other parts of our website. Subscription to the newsletter can be cancelled at any time. Details of this can be found in the confirmation email and in each individual newsletter.

Use of reCAPTCHA

We use the “reCAPTCHA” service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”) to protect input forms on our site. The service allows us to distinguish whether an input is of human origin or is originating from improper automated machine processing.

To our knowledge, the referrer URL, the IP address, the behaviour of website visitors, information about the operating system, browser and length of stay, cookies, display instructions and scripts, the user’s input behaviour and mouse movements in the area of the “reCAPTCHA” checkbox are transmitted to “Google”.

Google uses the information obtained in this way, among other things, to digitise books and other printed matter and to optimise services such as Google Street View and Google Maps.

The IP address transmitted as part of “reCAPTCHA” is not normally merged with other Google data. This only happens if you are logged in to your Google account at the time you use the “reCAPTCHA” plug-in. If you do not want “Google” to transmit and store your data and visitor behaviour, you must log out of “Google” before visiting our site or using the “reCAPTCHA” plug-in. The information obtained through the use of the “reCAPTCHA” service is provided in accordance with Google’s terms of use: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/

Your rights

In principle, you have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, revocation and objection. If you are of the opinion that the processing of your data violates applicable data protection laws or that your data protection rights have been violated in any way, please contact us first. We will do everything we can to rectify a potential breach. Of course, you can also complain to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority.

Please contact us with any concerns regarding data protection.
